Agreement to these terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using StudySphere — whether on the web platform at thestudysphere.in or through the desktop application — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

StudySphere is not a company. It is an independent project conceived, designed, built, and maintained entirely by Ahmad Ali — one developer working alone. When you agree to these terms, you are entering into an agreement with Ahmad Ali as an individual, not a corporation or registered business entity.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must stop using StudySphere immediately. Your continued use of the platform following any updates to these terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

What StudySphere is, and who built it

StudySphere is a comprehensive student productivity and learning management platform — built entirely from scratch by Ahmad Ali, an independent developer. Every line of code, every UI component, every feature, and every design decision was made and implemented by one person. There is no company, no team, no investor backing this project. It exists because Ahmad believed students deserved a better, more unified study tool.

The goal is simple: give students a single workspace to manage every aspect of their academic life. Ahmad continues to develop and maintain StudySphere independently, shipping updates, fixing bugs, and responding to users personally.

Ahmad continuously works to improve StudySphere and may add, modify, or discontinue features over time. Because this is a solo project, updates are shipped when ready — not on a corporate release cycle. Significant changes will be communicated to users in advance where possible.

Registration and account security

To access StudySphere's full features, you need to create an account. You may register using your email address or sign in with your Google account.

When creating an account, you agree to:

• Be at least 13 years of age (or have parental consent if required in your jurisdiction)
• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate
• Maintain the confidentiality of your account and credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or suspected breach of your account
• Accept full responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

You may not share your account with others, create accounts on behalf of others without authorization, or use another person's account without their explicit permission. Each account is for one individual user only.

We reserve the right to disable or remove accounts that have been inactive for more than 12 consecutive months, following advance notice to the registered email address.

What you can and cannot do

StudySphere is designed to help you learn. We trust you to use it responsibly. Here's what's not allowed:

• Use the service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, servers, or databases
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the application
• Upload, transmit, or distribute malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the performance of the service
• Harvest, scrape, or collect user data from the platform
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
• Use automated bots or scripts to interact with the service
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
• Use the AI features to generate harmful, misleading, or abusive content

Violations of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination, and may be reported to relevant authorities where required by law.

Ownership of content

StudySphere is the independent creative and technical work of Ahmad Ali. Every aspect of the platform — from the architecture to the user interface — was conceived and built by him personally. Intellectual property rights are clearly split between Ahmad and you as a user.

By uploading or creating content in StudySphere, you grant Ahmad Ali a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. Your content will never be used for any other purpose.

Using our AI assistant

StudySphere integrates AI-powered assistance through Groq AI to help you with academic questions, explanations, and learning support. The AI assistant is designed to be a helpful study companion, not a replacement for your own thinking, teachers, or verified academic sources.

• The AI assistant is provided on an "as is" basis and is not a licensed tutor, counselor, or academic advisor
• AI responses are generated based on your prompts; StudySphere is not responsible for decisions made based on AI output
• Do not input sensitive personal information, exam questions under NDA, or confidential data into the AI assistant
• AI features are subject to usage limits and may change or be discontinued as our services evolve

We continuously work to improve AI accuracy and safety, but encourage all users to apply critical thinking to AI-generated content.

Study monitoring features

StudySphere includes optional activity tracking features designed to help you understand and improve your study habits. These features may monitor:

• Active study time: Duration and frequency of your study sessions
• Task completion rates: How efficiently you complete your planned work
• Feature usage patterns: Which tools you use most to personalize your experience
• Pomodoro sessions: Focus session data and break compliance

By using activity tracking features, you consent to this monitoring. These features are designed solely to improve your study outcomes — we do not share individual tracking data with third parties, teachers, or institutions without your explicit consent.

You can disable activity tracking at any time through the Settings panel within the application. Disabling tracking will not affect your ability to use other StudySphere features.

Current and future pricing

StudySphere is currently provided free of charge during its launch and growth phase. We believe every student deserves access to great study tools, regardless of their financial situation.

If premium plans are introduced in the future, the following will apply:

• All pricing will be clearly communicated in advance with no surprise charges
• Free trials will be offered before any paid plan is required
• Refund policies will be stated clearly at the time of any transaction
• We will never charge you without your explicit consent

Our liability to you

StudySphere is a student productivity tool provided with care, but to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we limit our liability as follows:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service
• We are not responsible for loss of data caused by user error, device failure, or circumstances outside our control
• Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim (or INR 500 if you have never paid)
• We are not liable for any actions of third-party services integrated into StudySphere

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

Service provided "as is"

StudySphere is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure at all times
• Any errors or bugs will be corrected within any specific timeframe
• The results or information obtained through the service will be accurate or reliable
• The service will meet your specific requirements or expectations in all cases

We perform regular maintenance and work hard to ensure uptime and reliability. Planned maintenance windows will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not responsible for downtime caused by third-party services such as Firebase or Groq AI.

Ending your account

Either you or StudySphere may terminate your account at any time, for any reason.

If you want to terminate: Contact us at the email addresses below or use the account deletion option in your settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

If we terminate your account: We may suspend or permanently terminate your access if you violate these Terms of Service, engage in abuse of the platform, or if required to do so by law. We will notify you prior to termination except in cases of severe violations, active fraud, or legal emergencies.

• Upon termination, your right to use StudySphere ceases immediately
• Provisions that should survive termination (IP, liability, disputes) will remain in effect
• You may request an export of your data before termination

Legal jurisdiction

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to any conflict of law principles. StudySphere is operated from India and is primarily subject to Indian law.

For users outside India, local mandatory consumer protection laws may also apply and take precedence where required. We are committed to complying with applicable regulations in the jurisdictions where our users reside.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of StudySphere shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us directly. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

When we update these terms

We may revise these Terms of Service from time to time as StudySphere grows and evolves. When we make changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• For material changes: notify you via email and display an in-app notification
• For minor changes: update this page without separate notification
• For significant changes affecting your rights: seek your re-consent before proceeding

We encourage you to review these terms periodically. Your continued use of StudySphere after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you disagree with updated terms, you may terminate your account at any time.
